IN THE EYES OF: THEO PRODROMIDIS - EP. 6
Discover Theo Prodromidis in this 6th episode of our "In The Eyes Of" series, as he explores the links between sound and social commitment in Andalusia.
Greek-born artist and filmmaker Theo Prodromidis questions notions of belonging and territory through his work. His approach is based on listening: to cities, to the voices and stories that weave the identity of a place. In Andalusia, he records the sounds of everyday life, capturing the resonance of urban spaces and the traces left by those who inhabit them.
Her project is rooted in encounters with individuals and collectives engaged in the fight against poor housing and precariousness. Notes, sound fragments and everyday objects become witnesses to a struggle, markers of a resistance where the intimate meets the political. By collecting these elements, Théo Prodromidis builds a sensitive cartography of social realities, offering a new way of inhabiting and thinking about the city.
For him, listening to the city also means reflecting on how we listen to each other. Behind these sounds, a question emerges: how can we overcome differences by highlighting similarities?
In a context where finding a home is becoming a challenge, these recordings are much more than souvenirs, they are a way of reclaiming a territory, transforming the ephemeral into the permanent, and making listening an act of solidarity.
An invitation to hear the world differently.
