IN THE EYES OF: BEA BONAFINI - EP.1
Discover the first episode of "In the Eyes Of", our series that takes you on a journey of discovery of the Mediterranean through the eyes of the artists who inhabit it.
Italian artist Bea Bonafini, based between London and Barcelona, took part in the programme cross-residency program developed as part of the Art Explora festival. During her residency in Malta, she explored the blending of identities and myths resulting from trans-Mediterranean migration and trade. Bea Bonafini explored Neolithic archaeological sites and the way ceramics preserve and transmit myths about mother goddesses and female deities.

"IN THE EYES OF” is a series of interviews with artists participating in the Art Explora Cross-residency programme around the Mediterranean as part of the Art Explora Festival.
This programme series of artistic residencies, initiated by Art Explora Foundation and The Island Club, invites artists from the Mediterranean basin to reside and create for a month in one of the itinerant cities. Supported by programme Europe Créative, this project aims to support contemporary creation from a transdisciplinary perspective, and to create a solid, interdependent network of cultural partners throughout the region.
