For three days, Aesthetic services circa 2025, 2025, a hairdressing public service is offered free of charge for the citizens of Durrës. Conceived as a conceptual and performative work by artist Iris Touliatou, the project reimagines acts of care, intimacy, and exchange within urban and institutional frameworks.
Working across disciplines, Touliatou explores infrastructures, function, attachment, and desire, questioning the conditions of artistic production and the contexts in which it unfolds. In Durrës, she collaborates with a local hairdresser to offer cuts and styles by the sea, within the port, a site of passage, commerce, and transformation. Through this ephemeral gesture, Aesthetic services circa 2025, 2025 blurs the boundaries between art, labor, and everyday rituals, inviting participants to a subtle metamorphosis as both an act of service and a fleeting moment of connection
