"La sequía: un oasis" presents the research of three flamenco artists - cantaora Carmen Yruela, guitarist Carmen García and bailaora Laura Guastini - through dance, changes in perception around drought and water control in a context of ecocide particularly notable in southern Spain. The project is directed by poet and critic Juan Benot, with the collaboration of visual artist and researcher Pablo Caldera. In the Spanish imagination, the relationship with drinking water is linked to Franco's "economic miracle". ©Carmen García Campos

Although reservoir construction began in the late 19th century, it was in the 1960s and 1970s that it reached its greatest splendor, driven by industrial and agricultural development. This research is presented with recognizable codes: folklore as an ideological veil that conceals the indiscriminate extraction of resources.
