Sofiane Byari is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice draws from everyday life, using it as both material and a source of creative possibility. He draws inspiration from his immediate surroundings, extracting ideas, forms, and methods to deepen his artistic language. With a focus on accessibility, he seeks to distance himself from traditional forms of presentation, aiming to reach broader audiences. This leads him to explore alternative ways of exhibiting his work, often through performative interventions in public spaces, away from conventional galleries and museums. His in-situ interventions occur in everyday locations such as weekly markets and public squares, engaging directly with popular culture.
Byari’s work spans installations, paintings, sculptures, and performances, centering on a critical approach to the art market. Using natural materials collected from public spaces, his creations challenge the value attributed to institutionalized art. His practice produces hybrid objects and embraces an artisanal approach, foregrounding the social transformations shaping contemporary society.
