The digital platform

Because culture is also experienced and acquired online, Art Explora is developing a digital platform with unprecedented ambition dedicated to the history of art and available for all.

Available in French and English, completely free and designed first for smartphones and tablets, it will combine innovative teaching methods and resources from different cultural institutions or public broadcasters.

Eleven lessons to discover the history of art, all created with the Sorbonne University, will be available. The users will be able to take a final test and get a certificate. It will also be possible to go further in each lesson thanks to numerous additional video or audio contents hosted on the platform.

The platform will go live before summer 2021.

Around 60% of the world’s population lives within 60 kilometres of a coastline. And, to bring culture to all, we thought of an extraordinary tool: the largest catamaran in the world. This extraordinary boat, the ArtExplorer, can accommodate up to 2000 people per day.

A real digital museum, it will travel from port to port. On board, the public will be able to experience immersive events and discover the great masterpieces in a new way, thanks to technological advances.

A quayside festival will accompany each of its stops. Also featuring digital technology, it will welcome all kinds of visitors in a fun atmosphere and will, above all, give a prominent place to all local partners: communities, associations, cultural institutions…

ARTEXPLORER, c’est aussi un bateau à voile : un projet durable, au service de la sauvegarde de l’environnement. La réalisation du catamaran a été confiée après concours au designer et architecte naval Axel de Beaufort.

The launch is scheduled for 2023.
