Description of the work
Reflecting onin situ and what it means to "inhabit a space", Chloé Sassi offers a sensory retranscription of a collective experience. Interspaces is a collaborative video shot in the Meudon forest, around Hangar Y. It is the result of a series of relational and bodily exploration workshops with volunteer residents of the town of Meudon, in a quest for intergenerational casting. These encounters were an opportunity for the artist to explore alternative modes of sociability based on the non-verbal. Through singing, contact dance and somatic practices, the aim is to experience the environment in a quest for ultra-contact. Costumes take on particular importance, with "relational prostheses" linking the different protagonists. By seeking to occupy the forest with the bodies present, Chloé Sassi deploys a collective improvisation in the public space, questioning the relationship with non-humans and the possibilities of utopia.
