Volunteer profile: Hugo
We interviewed Hugo, 19, a student of political science and English in Lyon. Hugo is a volunteer for Art Explora Foundation and has carried out Allô Miro missions in hospitals, sharing art and culture with people who are the furthest from it. He spoke to us about his commitment:
How did you discover Art Explora ?
Idiscovered Art Explora last year through your Sorbonne-validated art history certification, which can be taken at Art Explora Academy. I'd recommend it to anyone! The online courses and quizzes are very easy to approach and you learn a lot. A few months later, I signed up as a volunteer.
Why you-to the missions?
Art in all its forms has always aroused my curiosity and encouraged me to enter cultural venues. Now that I'm a student, and therefore more independent, I thought it was my turn to become a conduit for this culture, in areas where it's not always within easy reach. And you learn a lot as a volunteer! From a human and educational point of view, as well as in terms of art history!
A particularly vivid memory?
The mission in a Lyon maternity hospital that I was able to take part in with a few other volunteers led us to be trained on an exhibition at the Musée d'Art Contemporain de Lyon by the museum team itself. And to have the opportunity to penetrate the museum's administration in this way seemed totally surreal to me!
