Lucie, the 500th to earn her certificate Art Explora Academy
Who are you?
My name's Lucie, I'm 23 and I'm a graphic designer. I've been moving around a lot lately between Lyon & Marseille, but I'm originally from Tarbes in the south-west of France.
How did you find out about Art Explora Academy?
I discovered Art Explora Academy through internet research, as I wanted to take art history courses again after my studies.
What's your favourite route and why?
My favorite course is the one on modern art, because it's the artistic movement that brings together the most artists I'm particularly fond of (Kandinsky, Mondrian, Picasso, the Delaunays...).
The craziest thing you've learned?
I really liked two pieces of information on two techniques: in the Islamic Arts section, the meticulous workmanship of the illuminations and the 258 miniatures of the Shahnameh text by 15 different painters. And in the Egypt section: the technique of using cylindrical seals to imprint a motif and sign works.
Why did you decide to take the Art Explora Academy certificate?
I studied applied arts and graphic design, and have a strong personal interest in art history. I love going to museums and wanted to continue learning and expanding my knowledge of the subject.
Would you recommend the platform to your friends and family? Why or why not?
I'd recommend it without hesitation, as I find the platform intuitive and well thought-out, even more so for people who have never taken an art history course before. The fact that the lessons are punctuated with videos, anecdotes and quizzes helps to make learning more fluid, in my opinion.
