This workshop aims to explore the energy, complexity and focus of contemporary dance. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their artistic expression skills and deepen their connection with their bodies and their environment.

Workshop objectives

1. Energy

  • Understand how energy affects our movement and how we can use it to overcome the limitations of the body.
  • Practice different techniques for feeling energy, from gentle to overwhelming energy.

2. Complexity

  • Explore complex movements and build a deeper understanding of dance structures.
  • Create simple choreographies that incorporate natural and complex movements at the same time, challenging the body and mind.

3. Focus

  • Develop skills to focus and stay present during the creative process.
  • Practice meditation and concentration techniques that will help participants work better in a group and individually.

Programme

1. Part one

  • Energy building: warm-up exercises, improving energy circulation in the body.
  • Practical application of energy distribution techniques during movement.

2. Part two

  • Exploring complex movements: sequences that require coordination and creativity.
  • Working in small groups to create a mini-choreography.

3. Part three

  • Focus exercises: meditation and concentration techniques for prior and during the performance.
  • Improvised performance by the participants, emphasizing energy, complexity and focus.

This workshop is suitable for individuals with an interest in dance, from beginners to experienced, who want to deepen their understanding of contemporary dance. This workshop is a great opportunity to connect with others and with our bodies as we feel free to express ourselves through movement!  

Julind Dervishi

Julind Dervishi is a dancer and choreographer who lives and creates in Albania. After completing his university studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, he began a successful career in choreography that has spanned over five intense years, and is now part of the ballet troupe of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Dervishi is known for his contemporary creations that incorporate innovative and emotional elements, pushing the boundaries of artistic sensitivity. He remains committed to developing the art of contemporary ballet in Albania and bringing a fresh perspective to both local and international stages. Through his work, Julind Dervishi contributes to the enrichment of Albanian artistic culture and encourages younger generations to pursue their dreams in the performing arts.

The International Dance Festival of Tirana (IDFT)

The International Dance Festival of Tirana (IDFT) is a unique platform where traditional expressions meet cutting-edge contemporary forms. Renowned for its boldness and innovation, the festival returns for a 4th edition, which will run from October 8th to October 25th 2025. With the aim of offering an immersive and inclusive experience, the festival goes beyond on-stage performances and offers a rich programme of artistic events in parallel (masterclasses, workshops, screenings, etc.).

Created with the exceptional collaboration of the Musée du Louvre, this exhibition highlights female figures in Mediterranean civilization, thanks to the digitization and modeling of part of the Louvre's collections. Is access to the boat free?

Yes, the boat is freely accessible on site. However, you can pre-book your time online on our website.

Is there a specific dress code for visiting the museum boat?

For reasons of safety and preservation of the boat, high heels and stilettos may not be worn on the boat.

How do I get on board the museum boat?

The museum boat is open to all free of charge. To find out on which quay it will be moored, or to pre-book your slot, consult the page dedicated to your town.

Is the museum boat accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Appropriate facilities have been set up on the Festival site for the reception and access of people with reduced mobility. The boat is equipped with a 1m-wide ramp, accessible to people with reduced mobility, but may require the accompaniment of a third party due to its gradient of over 6%. Access to the aft deck and immersive exhibition is possible. However, the upper deck is not accessible. Please inform us in advance of any special accessibility requirements, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
